Rein-Beers

duy gift idea men reinbeers
A few years back, I made these wonderful rein-beers for the Simmering Seoulmate, and then a year later I made them again for his father. They absolutely loved them and they’re ridiculously easy to make, which makes this DIY perfect for any man on your list. All you need is a glue gun, some pipe cleaners, googly eyes, pom-poms and of course his favourite beer! You can also use non-alcoholic bottled drinks or a soda drink for kids at your next holiday party.

These are the ones I made for the Simmering Seoulmate's father a few years ago.

What you need:
6 bottled beers
12 googly eyes, any size
6 red pom-poms
40cm brown pipe cleaner per beer, so I used 240cm.
scissors
hot glue gun, extra glue

What to do:
Take a 40cm long piece of pipe cleaner and cut two 8 cm pieces off. Wrap the longest piece around the top of the bottle and bend the ends up. Then, take the two small pieces and tie each one around the bent ends creating an antler shape.

Next, use the hot glue gun to glue on the eyes and pom-poms below the antlers. That’s it! You’re finished. You can go the extra step and cover the beer case with wrapping paper.

Easy Egg White Face Mask

egg white face mask diy beauty

I have another food beauty DIY for you! This time it’s a speedy face mask. With only 3 ingredients and less than a minute to make, pampering just got a whole lot easier.

What you need:
1 egg white
1 tsp fresh squeezed lemon juice
1/2 tsp honey

How to make your mask:
In a small bowl, whisk together egg white with lemon juice until frothy. Next, whisk in the honey until combined.

Directions for use:
First wash your face with warm water to open up your pores. Pat your face dry with a towel. Next, use your fingers to apply the mask to your face using circular motions. Be careful to avoid those sensitive areas around your eyes and lips. Now lie down and relax for 15 minutes, while the mask dries. Wash off using warm water.

Mask benefits:
Wow! My skin felt so nice after this mask. It felt so refreshing and my skin was soft and smooth. Egg whites have a ton of benefits for your skin, are great for tightening and toning your skin, and they help to shrink pores. I have combination skin, which means I have a very oily t-zone and dry patches on my checks. I love that the egg white has moisturizing properties, but also helps to remove grease.

As the holiday season approaches, make some time for you and try this mask out yourself. Also, don’t forget to check out my other beauty DIY post here

Coffee Body Scrub

coffee scrub diy

Today I’m posting something a bit different, but don't worry it's still technically food related. I am quite the girly girl, which means I thoroughly enjoy dressing up, playing with make-up and I especially like pampering myself.  So here’s a quick post on how to whip up a quick scrub using things you probably already have. I hope you try it out and pamper yourself this weekend!

What you need:
coffee cinnamon brown sugar
used coffee grinds (3/4 cup or 1 cup)
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon

Take the coffee grinds from your machine and try to drain or squeeze most of the liquid from the basket or filter. This step is important so the scrub isn’t too runny. Next, put coffee grinds in a medium bowl. Add sugar and cinnamon and stir to combine. You can leave it in your bowl and use right away or put it in a cute jar and give as a gift. To use, rub all over body and let sit for a few minutes. It’s okay to use it on your face, but stay away from eye and lip areas. After a few minutes rinse off.

I use this scrub about twice a month. It leaves my skin feeling and smelling AMAZING!
